Earlier this week a few of the residents working their creativity magic on pumpkins for Halloween!! There is definitely talent a-plenty here at Cavell Gardens!
The Infinitus group (Strings Trio) had a last minute cancellation and called us up to see if we could accommodate them. They play classical music with a little 'beatbox' flair added on top. The result was FANTASTIC!! They were a lot of fun AND they are really nice guys too! We will definitely have them back.

Prefect weather for our trip to VanDusen Gardens! The Golf Cart Tour is a great way for folks to enjoy the gardens. Volunteers share lots of information as they drive you around the grounds.
Well the plan was to go to Ambleside Park for another picnic but the poor weather had other ideas so we turned it into a scenic drive through Deep Cove. Sorry no pictures from this excursion as we stayed on the bus but it was good to get out and go for a ride.
Peter Paulus played a fun and fitting set for our Country & Western Day! Ken even brought his horse "moppy" in for special day!

Although National Chicken Wing Day was Monday, July 29 we moved it to Thursday, Aug 1 due to the weather and what a great day it turned out to be! An excellent turnout of residents to enjoy the delicious wings!
We've been waiting all year for this trip and we got a perfect day for it! The scenic drive along the Sea to Sky Highway just adds to the views from the top of the Gondola. Lots of great trials at the top as well with great viewpoints.
Today was our annual catered picnic to Ambleside Beach in North Vancouver! A great menu from our kitchen, great weather and great company!
Today's adventure took us to a new spot, Historic Stewart Farm located in South Surrey. While I somehow managed to pick the one day the museum farm house was closed, we had a great time enjoying the scenery and the sunshine! We will be back when the farm house is open and perhaps have a picnic while we are here as there is a nice big area with picnic tables and a great view of the Nicomekl River.
Residents enjoying another gorgeous day in Vancouver! Lunch with a view at the Boathouse at Kits Beach and then ice cream for those who live by the mantra "There's always room for ice cream!"
Our Annual Yard Sale was a huge success! A big THANK YOU to the community for helping to support our residents! We raised over $1600 for our Resident Council Fund where the money is used to fund resident activities and entertainment.
