Vandusen Festival of Lights

Our annual trip to the Vandusen Festival of Lights. We managed to avoid the rain and the crowds! Always a magnificent display and yummy snacks throughout as well.

 

Magee Secondary Concert

Magee Senior Secondary School has a tradition of hosting a Christmas concert & Tea for seniors in the community. This is our 2nd year attending and it was a great concert as usual! As you can see our residents were super excited to attend and experience the very talented groups.

Cavell Gardens Casino Night

The Cavell Gardens Casino Night was a HUGE success!!! There was great food enjoyed by great people and everyone had a great time!!

Pumpkin Decorating

Earlier this week a few of the residents working their creativity magic on pumpkins for Halloween!! There is definitely talent a-plenty here at Cavell Gardens!

Oct 18 - Infinitus Strings Trio

The Infinitus group (Strings Trio) had a last minute cancellation and called us up to see if we could accommodate them. They play classical music with a little 'beatbox' flair added on top. The result was FANTASTIC!! They were a lot of fun AND they are really nice guys too! We will definitely have them back.

 It was time to head back to the resident favorite place for lunch!

Burnaby Mountain Park

Quick little trip to Burnaby Mountain Park. How can you tell some of them were enjoying the nice weather in October!

Cates Park - North Vancouver

Perfect September day for a picnic at Cates Park. I love how peaceful and quiet it can be here when it's not busy!

Horseshoe Bay

 A perfect day for the highly anticipated trip to Horseshoe Bay! Trolls for lunch and then some time to enjoy the scenery, weather and a snack or two from Goldie's Donuts & Bakery! Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Magic Show and Balloon Art!

 Who knew Magic and Balloon Art go hand in hand?? Thanks to John Stenning for entertaining our residents today with his magic and some leaving with parting gifts! 

Horse Racing

 Horse racing can get pretty competitive here at Cavell Gardens! Congratulations to Ruth for winning the gift basket from Shopper's Drug Mart!

VanDusen Gardens

Prefect weather for our trip to VanDusen Gardens! The Golf Cart Tour is a great way for folks to enjoy the gardens. Volunteers share lots of information as they drive you around the grounds.

Aug 20 - Scenic Drive

 Well the plan was to go to Ambleside Park for another picnic but the poor weather had other ideas so we turned it into a scenic drive through Deep Cove. Sorry no pictures from this excursion as we stayed on the bus but it was good to get out and go for a ride. 

Aug 15 - Locarno Beach

It was supposed to be a scenic drive to Locarno but it was too nice of a day so we had to stop. Nothing like ice cream and concession snacks at 11:00am at the beach!

July 26 - Country & Western Day

Peter Paulus played a fun and fitting set for our Country & Western Day! Ken even brought his horse "moppy" in for special day!

 

Aug 13 - Fort Langley

 Picnic and a little shopping afterwards in the quaint township of Fort Langley.

Aug 8 - Lunch At UBC Golf Course

 Enjoying lunch at Westward Ho! at UBC.
