Dear Friends, Families and Residents,
As
we welcome in the New Year, it is tradition to look back and reflect on how we
can learn, change and improve on being better individuals, friends, and in our
case, a support service business. This last year has proven to be challenging
to say the least, but I feel it has brought out the best in many, while we
helped support each other through these uncertain times. Our staff, residents,
their families and individuals from outside our community, have shown great
compassion and their willingness to share in the hope of a brighter future. I
truly wish you all the best in health, peace and joy this coming year.
This
past year we have also seen an unfortunate number of our residents requiring
more support, having to move to AL or LTC communities. As our residents age in
place and new residents move in, we continually teeter back and forth in our
pursuit in maintaining a balanced home for our independent and supportive
residents. Knowing this, and to improve the safety of our residents, I will be
looking into the possibility of adding a Wellness Coordinator to our
operations. This position will provide private support services to our
residents throughout the entire 24-hour day, ensuring residents are not feeling
unsafe or left without services.
I
will be resuming our plans to undertake a major renovation of our common 1st
floor areas. This was scheduled for the prior year but due to the unforeseen
virus, we had to change our focus. I feel this can now be done safely and look
forward to bringing in some necessary changes to continually improve and
maintain the home you've come to love. As always, I will be asking for your
input, allowing you to help me create and implement new services that you feel
would be beneficial to your community.
Graphic
designs will now be applied on our new shuttle bus which will add an additional
layer of advertising for our home. I am glad to share that many of our
residents have participated and enjoyed sightseeing on the bus. We're hopeful
that we can schedule elevated events in the coming year.
As
many of my residents can attest too, it is my faith in Jesus Christ who
strengthens me allowing me to remain confident and sure of my life. So many
times, we can get caught up in the uncertainty of our daily lives, but as his
word states; "Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your
own understanding". No matter what storm or challenge comes our way, know
that you can be comforted in his secure and loving hands. I continually pray
for his blessing on our home and residents.
Wishing you all a blessed New Year full of prosperity.
