Hello everyone,

During these challenging times of Covid-19, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all staff (Marquis & Cavell) who have dedicated their time and concern for our residents. It would not be possible to undertake such a change in operations if it were not for their commitment. Again, thank you.

To all of our mother’s. Your endless love and support don’t go unnoticed. The comfort you provide to your loved ones is like having the security of God’s embrace. Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day.

To date, we haven’t had any confirmed cases of Covid-19 within our community due in large to all of you following our policies and procedures which are designed to keep you as well as our team members and resident’s safe and healthy.

In order to ensure we remain virus free, I encourage you all to continue to:
  • Communicate openly and honestly with management regarding any health concerns.
  • Continue social distancing within your home, at work and when you are outside of work as recommended by Dr. Bonnie Henry, our Provincial Health Officer.
  • Limit your contact with others when you leave your community or work to ensure you are not at risk when returning.

Stay home and limit outings to only necessary ones.
Other safety procedures that management continues to enforce to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are:
  • Ongoing screening of all essential staff, recording temperatures and history of any health concerns.
  • Staff are required to wear PPE during their shifts.
  • Reinforced cleaning practices throughout our community.
  • Meal delivery, closing of the dining room.
  • Encourage residents to use our in-house grocery list.
  • No Visitors

I feel it is safe to say, that social distancing and other safeguard practises are and will become the normal way of life for some time. The question is; what does this look like for our operations and resident’s residing at Cavell Gardens? Management continues to discuss this topic with other operators and will continue to look for guidance from our Health Authorities for answers. We are hopeful that sooner than later we can safely provide some form of activities that allow our residents to interact socially again.

I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.  Let’s all continue to play our roles in ensuring we remain safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Brian Svoboda

General Manager
